Phuntsholing is a border town that lies on the foothill of the Himalayas. This is Bhutan’s second largest town and is a main commercial center. It is an interesting place where people of different ethnic groups gather – the Indians, Nepalese and Bhutanese. It serves as a convenient place for entrance and exit in and out of Bhutan, and is also the link for nearby states Darjeeling, Sikkim and Assam.
This is a temple founded in 1967 by the Royal Grand Mother Ashi Phuntsho Choden. It overlooks the great Indian plain and the Phuntsholing city. Within the temple one can find statues of Buddha, Guru Rimpoche and Zhabdrung Rimpoche.
