Formalities

The following information is required for the visa application

1. Full name (as in the passport)

2. Profession

3. Nationality

4. Passport number

5. Date of issue and date of expiration of passport

6. Date of birth and place of birth

7. Two passport size color photograph

8. Permanent address

9. Telephone number

Travelers must hold a passport which has at least 6 months validity.

Types of passport: Ordinary, Diplomatic, Official

 

Your visa will be processed based on the information submitted to the Department of Immigration and  Ministry of Culture and Home Affairs of the Royal Government of Bhutan.

Upon granting of the visa, a visa clearance letter  will be sent to you.  This must be produced upon check-in for your flight with Druk Air. Road travelers will be required to show the visa clearance letter and  2 passport size photographs at the immigration check point.

 

Tariff

The tourist tariffs are  determined by the Government of Bhutan

and at present they are:

Group Size Peak Season Low Season

3 or more travelers in a group 250 USD pp (low season 200 USD pp)

2 travelers in a group 280 USD pp (low season 240 USD pp)

Individual traveler 290 USD (low season 250 USD)

 

Visa fee is 20 USD per person per tour to be paid along with the tour payments, USD 10 per person per tour payable to Tourism Council of Bhutan.

Seasons (as above):

Peak season:  February to May, August to December.

Low season:  January and from June to July.

 

The tariff includes three star accommodation, three meals a day, all transport with a driver and English speaking guide as well as all sight seeing including entrance fees where appropriate.

3. Phone and Internet Charges (most hotels offer free wifi)

4. Tips for the Guide and Driver
